CHAMOMILE – THE PLANT
Or Roman Chamomile. Scientific name: Anthemis Nobilis.
Description: Perennial plant of the Asteraceae family, similar qualities to German Chamomile. Origins: Europe, Mediterranean.
History: Its name originates from the ancient Greek word ”melo chamai” (low-growing apple) because its scent reminds that of an apple.
Physician Ariston used chamomile to prepare the ”colicin”, a medicine against ”all pain”. Its medicinal use has a history of more than 2,000 years mainly in the Mediterranean and Egypt, where it was used against fever and to honour the Sun god, for the treatment of infections.
Saxons considered it as a sacred plant.
CHAMOMILE – ”BIOLOGOS” ESSENTIAL OIL
Technique: Extracted from the flowers of the plant through steam distillation.
Composition: Contains mainly esters (angelic and tiglic acid), alcohols (amyl and isobutyl) and ketones (l-trans, pinocarvone, 1,8-cineole), ingredients that ensure its therapeutic qualities.
Scent: Soft, flowery, and colour light yellow, almost translucent.
Country: Egypt.

With essential oils of Bergamot, Rose, Geranium, Lavender, Cedar, Rosewood, Jasmine, Incense, Marjoram, Ylang-Ylang.
