TEA TREE – THE PLANT

Scientific name: Melaleuca Alternifolia.

Description: As small tree of the Myrtaceae family, with needle-like leaves and white, yellow or purple flowers. Origins: It grows mainly in Australia.

History: References to its medical use by Aborigines in Australia.

Technique: Extracted from the leaves and branches of the plant through steam distillation. Composition: Contains a- and b-pinene, myrcene, sampinene, a-phellandrene, a-terpinene, y-terpinene, terpinen-4-ol (30-48% ) and a-terpineol , limonene, 1,8-cineole (15%), p-cymene, terpinolene, linalool, ingredients that ensure the therapeutic qualities of this oil.
