GINGER – THE PLANT

Scientific name: Zingiber Officinalis.

Description: Evergreen plant with origins from Asia.

History: Written references to the therapeutic uses of the plant in Chinese texts over 2,000 years ago.

The Romans held it in great esteem as medicine.

Technique: Extracted from the root of the plant through steam distillation.

Composition: Contains sesquiterpenes: zingiberene, b-bisabolene, a-curcumene, ingredients that ensure the therapeutic qualities of this oil.
