FENNEL – THE PLANT

Scientific name: Foeniculum Vulgare Mill.

Description: Aromatic shrub of the Apiaceae family. This is the sweet fennel, a kind of the Vulgare species.

Origins: Native in the Mediterranean, but it also grows in Northern Europe, Australia and North America.

History: References to its therapeutic, cosmetic and aromatic use by all ancient civilizations.
